Zapgo Walk to Cartmel Challenge

Well, we made it! Taking a monumental 630,000 steps, 14 Zapgo ‘Steppers’ cantered their way to Cartmel Racecourse in Cumbria on a virtual walk from our HQ in Victoria, London, to celebrate our soon-to-be-launched EV chargers and to raise some funds for the local Primary School in Cartmel.

The Walk to Cartmel Challenge covered a remarkable distance of 270 miles - hence the countless steps! This initiative was created to give back to the community where we are thrilled to introduce our flagship Zapgo chargers. Participants included our CEO Neil, COO Ross, General Counsel Dilukshi, and team members from all departments at Zapgo.

“It's exciting for two reasons,” says Jo Moffatt, Head of Network. “Firstly doing something good with my colleagues to benefit the community we are serving, but also it feels like every step we take is getting us closer to our first site going live, which is an amazing feeling.”

Over the Bank Holiday weekend, our Steppers came together to raise support for Cartmel CE Primary School and turned every step into something meaningful.

“It's important to me that Zapgo gets involved with the communities that host us and are served by our infrastructure,” says Zapgo’s Chief Growth Officer Dee Humphries. “This walk is a great way for us to help support the local community at Cartmel - whilst motivating me to get my steps in!”

According to COO Ross Mabon:

“It has been good to connect our efforts to a meaningful cause. Primary schools hold a special place in many communities, and knowing that while we were out there achieving our steps, we were contributing to the creation of excellent facilities that will benefit the children for years to come is truly fulfilling.”

And at the end of their journey the Steppers took in – virtually anyway – the many glorious sites in Cartmel on our social feeds: The Cavendish Arms; Cartmel Village Shop; Unsworth’s Brewery; and the beautiful Cartmel Priory.
