Zapgo is on a mission. We are determined to be at the heart of communities across the UK by being one of the first companies to offer electric vehicle (EV) charging in your area.
And we don’t just “install and go” – we aim to become part of your community, providing accessible EV charging at local places people want to visit, which provides regular income for local businesses, and rapid and reliable charging for EV drivers.
At the same time, we are also involved in school and community initiatives that promote greener living in the areas where we are installing chargers.
Take resident-owned The Stanley Club (www.thestanley.club) for example. In the Club car park, Zapgo is bringing EV charging to the Burscough area in Lancashire for the very first time.
Breaking ground in July, we are installing two 200KW chargers delivering rapid charging to four bays, two of which are fully accessible (to read more, check out our accessibility blog here). To ensure safety and security, Zapgo will also be installing 24hr CCTV, new lighting and providing 24/7 support.
On top of that we are donating funds directly to The Stanley Club itself to help pay for some much-wanted improvements.
According to Steve Holmes, Zapgo Build and Development Director:
“Zapgo are passionate about providing charging where others have yet failed to deliver, so we are proud to be a positive component in providing a leading-edge service to the community of Burscough and those visiting this historic and beautiful location.”
The history of The Stanley Club is long and varied, from cinema to boarding house, from school to meeting rooms and for the past 20 years, a private-members club.
“We’re thrilled that Zapgo is bringing EV charging to our car park,” Club Secretary Glenn Stoneman says.
“It has been so easy – they basically do all the work. With no risk to us, no cost and no hassle, we’ll be supporting the community and earning revenue from each charge point from the day the chargers go live.”
“Zapgo has also been helping me manage the message with the local school and community,” Glenn says.
“Obviously during the build, there is bound to be a little disruption, but Zapgo has helped us get a positive message out there and minimise any concerns.”
With the build taking approximately eight weeks, the chargers should be live in September. And the fact that the chargers will attract local residents, tourists and passing traffic too, will be an added bonus for the Club.
