Zapgo’s mission to bring rapid and reliable EV charging to the UK’s communities took another big step forward last week, as West Lancashire MP Ashley Dalton visited our brand-new charging site at The Stanley Club in Burscough.
The visit offered a first-hand look at how Zapgo’s community-first approach is already delivering real benefits for drivers, residents and one of the historic area’s best-loved local venues.
Ms Dalton, who has been a patron to the club, welcomed the opportunity to meet with The Stanley Club’s Chair and Club Secretary and see the latest upgrades. The Stanley Club’s team described their ongoing renovation plans and highlighted the positive impact that recent grant funding and Zapgo’s partnership is already having.
At the improved site, visitors will discover two state-of-the-art 200kW chargers, providing ultra-rapid charging across four bays, including two fully accessible bays designed for ease of use by all drivers.

To make the experience as smooth and safe as possible, the hub also includes:
• 24-hour CCTV
• New exterior lighting
• Simple contactless payment for speedy charging
• A welcoming layout designed for convenience and accessibility
It’s everything drivers expect from a modern rapid-charging location and it’s right in the heart of Burscough.
A key part of Zapgo’s vision is ensuring that communities benefit directly from hosting charging infrastructure. The Stanley Club is the latest example of how this model works in practice.
As part of the partnership, Zapgo has provided £10,000 in funding to support essential building renovations, helping the club improve its facilities for the thousands of local residents who use it each year. The venue will also receive a share of revenue from every charge, creating a long-term, sustainable income stream.
Dee Humphries, Chief Growth Officer at Zapgo, said:
“We were delighted to host Ashley Dalton MP and share the story behind our new charging site at The Stanley Club. Our partnership with the club is a great example of how we are bringing rapid charging to the areas that need it most, while helping to support vital community hubs with a new revenue stream for years to come.”
With EV adoption rising across the UK, Zapgo is committed to building a network of rapid chargers where people actually spend time, supporting local venues, making EV ownership easier and ensuring towns like Burscough share in the benefits of the transition to cleaner transport.

The Stanley Club, a not-for-profit community institution with roots stretching back to 1902, is exactly the kind of partner Zapgo is proud to work with.
